The myth says that Zeus saw that the Cretans were killing "KRI-KRI" ,the ancient relative of the goat, and decided to panish them so he created a sea monster to hunt the Cretans. But he regretted of his decision and throw from the heavens two pieces of "Ntakos" (a kind of cretan bread) so the monster ate them and stoned at the position where the Island is right now.
